Company Description
Mitsui Mining and Smelting Company, Limited is mainly engaged in metal business. The Functional Materials division provides battery materials, functional powder, rare metal chemicals, rare earth products and others. The Metal and Resource division is engaged in the manufacture and sale of zinc, copper, gold, silver, sulfuric acid, zinc alloys, the recycling, waste treatment, environmental businesses, the supply of geothermal steam and hot water, and the mining of zinc and lead. The Electronic Materials division offers electrolytic copper foils and metal powder. The Material division is engaged in the manufacture and sale of thin-film, inspection equipment and others and information processing systems, the engineering, and the leasing and insurance businesses. The Automobile Equipment division offers automobile functional components. As of March 31, 2014, the Company had 75 subsidiaries and 36 associated companies.
