Dax – Stock Index Components
The DAX is the benchmark index of the German stock exchange and measures the performance of the 40 largest and most liquid companies in Germany. The DAX is a price index, meaning its calculation is based exclusively on share prices. This makes the DAX a reflection of economic development in Germany and Europe.
The DAX is calculated as a price index and is continuously updated during the trading hours of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The determination of index members follows strictly defined criteria that take into account both market capitalization and trading volume. The DAX is one of the largest and most important stock indices in Europe and is a global barometer for economic development in Germany.
